X Y is a coming of age webcomic run in the format of a comic strip from India. It is regarded as the world's first-ever B-school comic strip. The plot of each comic strip revolves around the protagonist named "X Y" who is an MBA student. Y is a common Indian surname while the word "X" refers to the arbitrary ways of the protagonist. The strip deals with the campus life of a B-school student, replete with jargon and has X Y making mockery of management concepts and theories. He is characterised as a student with big dreams and bigger mouth, studying at a leading business school. Each strip is carried in a single panel and is not serialised (that is, each strip is complete in itself).
The character and the comic strip were created by Shubham Choudhury and Hemantkumar Jain in 2004, then students at NITIE, Mumbai. It was initially created to serve as a mascot to MastishK' 04, an online contest - a part of Prerana, the inter-collegiate youth festival of the institute. In the subsequent years, competitions were held among the students of various B-schools, to identify good ideas for the comic strip, in addition to the ideas generated by the creators themselves. The concept of a comic strip revolving around the life of a B-school student proved successful at the festival and this led to its transformation into a webcomic.
Whats X and Y?

my first ques ... starting off with an easy one ...
Legend has it that in ancient times , an indian conquistador set on a new conquest to extend his empire . he set his plans to travel via the ancient silk route but he lost track when the weather turned tables . his mentor advised him that should he continue his conquest , the gods would punish his army . paying no heed to his guru's words , he continued in a direction he had very little idea about but yet he was able to easily annex it to his kingdom . as a token as offering to the god of war ie. lord muruga , he built a temple dedicated to lord karthikeya . the temple still exists today , but ravaged . identify the country / region that he annexed , taking that temple as root for the derivation of the name .

The Internet was just unfolding and I starting spending more and more time on it,it was interesting. It was interesting to see these little companies getting started. Two of my colleagues from Stanford had gone to start Y! and i thought this was just .."Wow! . . . . . . . . Somebody put one million in them.I mean that was huge. So I thought the internet is here to stay and I started playing around with it and came up with the idea to do simple-to-install database at the back end. Then you'd use the browser at the front end.It could store any piece of information at the back, but the browser would be used to display it.
I wrote a business plan and did'nt know what to do with it.I was the only guy,so how do u build a company?I knew Jack and Knew that he was a great software and hardware engineer. So i shared this idea with him.He read the business plan and said the next day .. " This is great, Where do I sign?"
Who is sharing his idea with us? Id X- the speaker.. and Y
